1 green apple (Granny Smith are the best for this)
1 cup of water
2 teaspoons of soy sauce
4 tablespoons of tomato paste
4 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoon of mustard
2 tablespoon brown sugar
Into a mixing bowl put the brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and water and mix it together well. Put the bowl aside for later use.
Before you begin cooking anything you should also slice up your onion and apple. Cut the onion into slices about 1cm (½ inch) thick. Remove the core from the apple and slice that into 1cm (½ inch) thick slices too, cut the apple slices in half vertically so they are in a ‘half-moon’ shape. (Hope that makes sense).
Heat up a small amount of oil in a large frying pan and start cooking your sausages. Roll them around a bit to make sure they cook evenly. Once they are lightly cooked remove them from the saucepan and cut them into bite sized pieces, put them aside.
Now add the sliced onion to the frying pan and cook until it starts to turn golden and soft, this should take about 2- 3 minutes.
Add your bite-sized sausage bits, apple slices and the sauce mixture and bring it to a simmer. Cook for a further 5 minutes while stirring.
Have a cheeky taste and add salt and pepper if desired/required.
